Product Overview
CM Aquatechnik supplies full-bridge and half-bridge sludge scrapers for circular and rectangular final clarifiers and primary settling tanks. Scrapers continuously collect settled sludge to the central hopper (circular) or sludge trough (rectangular) for return or waste sludge removal. Surface scum skimmers remove floating material simultaneously.
Frequently asked questions
Which type of scraper is right for my settling tank?
The choice depends mainly on tank geometry and size: circular tanks from 3 m to 60 m in diameter are fitted with full-bridge, half-bridge or centre-column scrapers, while rectangular tanks from 2 m to 30 m wide are typically equipped with bridge or chain-driven systems. Sludge characteristics, the sludge withdrawal point and the need for surface scum skimming also influence the selection.
Which materials are available for the scraper structure and flights?
Scrapers are available in stainless steel 304/316L, FRP and HDPE. Stainless steel 316L flights and wear shoes are used for long service life in demanding wastewater duties, whereas non-metallic materials can be advantageous where low weight and corrosion resistance are the priority.
How is the scraper protected against overload?
An overload torque cut-out is fitted as standard and stops the drive before thick or compacted sludge can damage the mechanism. Combined with a low peripheral speed of around 2 m/min, this protects the equipment and keeps the sludge blanket undisturbed during continuous operation.
What information do you need for a quotation?
Please provide the tank type and dimensions (diameter or length and width, side wall depth), the function of the tank (primary settling, final clarifier, thickener), the type and expected quantity of sludge, your preferred drive system and materials, and whether scum skimming is required. Send us your requirements and we will prepare a proposal within 48 hours.
