Product Overview
CM Aquatechnik supplies submersible propeller and hyperboloid mixers for anoxic and anaerobic zone mixing in biological treatment tanks, equalisation basins, and sludge holding tanks. Properly designed mixing ensures uniform substrate distribution, prevents sludge settling, and maintains suspended solids in suspension without introducing oxygen in anoxic zones.
Frequently asked questions
Propeller or hyperboloid mixer: which should I use?
Submersible propeller mixers generate a horizontal flow and are widely used in anoxic zones, equalisation basins and sludge tanks. Hyperboloid mixers create an optimal three-dimensional flow pattern in circular tanks, and jet mixers are also available; the choice depends on tank shape, medium and mixing duty.
How is a mixer sized for a tank?
Sizing is based on the tank volume and geometry, the water level and the properties of the medium, such as sludge concentration. Our mixers range from 0.75 to 30 kW with propeller diameters from 230 to 2,500 mm, and a single unit can mix volumes of up to 8,000 m³.
How are submersible mixers maintained?
With guide rail mounting the mixer can be raised and lowered for inspection without draining the tank. A double mechanical seal with oil chamber prevents wastewater ingress into the motor, and routine maintenance typically involves periodic inspection of the seals and oil chamber.
What information do you need for a quotation?
Please provide the tank dimensions and shape, the water level range, the purpose of mixing (for example anoxic zone, equalisation or digester) and the characteristics of the medium, such as solids content and temperature. Please also tell us your preferred mounting arrangement and whether an ATEX-certified version is required. Send us your requirements and we will prepare a proposal within 48 hours.
