Product Overview
CM Aquatechnik supplies fine-bubble membrane disc and tube diffusers for biological aeration in activated sludge, MBR, and SBR treatment tanks. EPDM and polyurethane membrane diffusers achieve oxygen transfer efficiency (OTE) of 6–8% per metre submergence, typically 20–35% standard oxygen transfer efficiency (SOTE) — significantly higher than coarse-bubble systems.
Frequently asked questions
Should I choose disc, tube or plate diffusers?
All three types provide fine-bubble aeration with bubbles of 1–3 mm. Discs are available in 230, 270 and 300 mm diameters and tubes in 500, 750 and 1,000 mm lengths; the choice depends on tank geometry, the required air flow and the preferred grid layout.
EPDM or polyurethane membranes: which is better?
EPDM is the standard membrane material for municipal and most industrial activated sludge applications. Polyurethane membranes are recommended for oily or greasy wastewater, where they offer better resistance than EPDM.
How many diffusers does an aeration tank need?
The number of diffusers is calculated from the oxygen demand of the process, the water depth (typically 3–8 m) and the air flow per diffuser, which ranges from 0.5 to 8 Nm³/h. We can also design and supply the complete air distribution piping to suit the diffuser grid.
What information do you need for a quotation?
Please provide the tank dimensions and water depth, the oxygen demand or required air flow, and the type of wastewater. If you are replacing existing diffusers, the current make and model and the pipework material help us to offer a matching drop-in solution. Send us your requirements and we will prepare a proposal within 48 hours.
