Product Overview
CM Aquatechnik supplies filament-wound fibreglass reinforced plastic (FRP) pressure vessels from 6″ to 84″ diameter for use as softener, multimedia filter, activated carbon filter, and deioniser vessels. Available in 150 psi (10 bar) working pressure rating with optional NSF61-approved liner for potable water contact service.
Frequently asked questions
How is the right FRP vessel size selected?
Vessels are available from 6″ to 84″ diameter with media capacities from 4 L to 12,000 L. The size is selected from the design flow rate and the media volume and bed depth the application requires, for example softening, multimedia filtration or activated carbon filtration.
Are FRP pressure tanks suitable for drinking water?
Yes. With the optional NSF61-certified polyethylene liner, the vessels are suitable for potable water and food-grade service. A phenolic liner is also available for other duties.
What are the advantages of FRP over steel vessels, and what are the limits?
Filament-wound FRP tanks are much lighter than steel, which reduces installation cost, and they are corrosion-resistant, so there is no rust and no risk of contaminating the treated water. The standard working pressure is 150 psi (10.3 bar) and the operating temperature range is −5 °C to +50 °C, so applications outside these limits call for a different vessel design.
What information do you need for a quotation?
Please tell us the application, the flow rate, the required media volume or vessel diameter and height, the working pressure and temperature, the connection size and whether you need top-mount or side-mount connections, the preferred distributor (riser tube, laterals or gravel underbed) and whether an NSF61 liner is required. Send us your requirements and we will prepare a proposal within 48 hours.
