Product Overview

CM Aquatechnik supplies rotating drum screens, step screens, and band screens for municipal and industrial wastewater headworks. Fine screens (1–6 mm slot openings) protect downstream pumps, aerators, and biological treatment systems from rag, fibre, and solid contamination.

All screens are constructed in 304 or 316L stainless steel for corrosion resistance in aggressive wastewater environments. Integrated compacting screw press and screenings washer options reduce odour and screenings volume by up to 60% for hygienic disposal.

Frequently asked questions

Which screen opening do I need?

Our screens are available with slot or hole openings from 0.5 to 6 mm, and fine screens with 1–6 mm openings protect downstream pumps, aerators and biological treatment systems from rag, fibre and solids. Finer openings are chosen where sensitive downstream processes, such as membrane systems, require a higher level of protection.

Should I choose a rotating drum screen, a step screen or a band screen?

The choice depends on the flow rate, the channel width and depth, the solids load and the required opening. We supply all three types for flows from 5 to 2,000 L/s and channel widths from 200 mm to 3,000 mm, and we recommend the most suitable design for your inlet works.

How are screenings handled?

An optional integrated compacting screw press and screenings washer remove organic content and reduce the screenings volume by up to 60%, which cuts odour and allows hygienic disposal. The self-cleaning action prevents blinding even with fibrous loads, and an overflow bypass weir protects against hydraulic overload.

What information do you need for a quotation?

Please tell us the average and peak flow, the channel width and depth and the water level, the type of wastewater, the required screen opening, your requirements for screenings compaction and washing, whether the screen is installed indoors or outdoors, and any ATEX zone classification. Send us your requirements and we will prepare a proposal within 48 hours.
