Drum filters provide very low-energy, low-maintenance polishing filtration with automatic continuous backwash spray.

Which mesh size should I choose?
Drum filters are available with stainless steel mesh openings from 10 to 100 µm. The right opening depends on the incoming solids, the target effluent TSS and the downstream process, for example UV disinfection, membrane filtration or direct reuse.
How much energy and backwash water does a drum filter use?
Energy consumption is very low, typically 0.01 to 0.05 kWh/m³, with drive motors from 0.18 to 1.5 kW. The continuous spray backwash uses around 2–5% of the filtrate flow and requires no operator intervention.
Can a drum filter be installed in an existing channel?
Yes. Drum filters are gravity-fed with an operating head loss below 150 mm water column, so no inlet pumping is needed, and their compact design allows installation in existing effluent channels. Tank-mounted versions in SS 304 or GRP are also available.
